Lago Azul

My family of 12 arrived in Hailey, Idaho on Christmas night. Lago Azul was just about to close and offered to stay open until we got there! They accommodated our to go order for steak and chicken fajitas, rice, beans and the food was amazing! It had great authentic flavor and nice size portions, but most of all the service was genuine and kind. Gracias to the mom and son who cooked for us... you made our Christmas night special!

Have you ever had a vision of delicious refried beans and authentic Mexican rice while being on an elliptical machine? Well I did. So I went in there hoping it was one of those premonitions that turn out to be true! I was greeted warmly, and made to feel comfortable and welcome. Ultimately, I'm glad that I chose chicken enchiladas, because and I can say that for taste and authenticity; I was very happy and satisfied when I walked outside!

Really good food. Portion sizes weren't quite what I was expecting. Bathroom wasn't super clean, but okay. Overall, pretty good.

I love this place. My second time going today and i am been quit happy both visits.

Had not been for awhile, I was pleased to see they cleaned the place up and the food has definately improved as well. I'll be going more often. Had the Salvadorian Special, kind of like a savory cheesy pancake, it was really good.

We went here on Saturday night at 6pm and there was a "Closed" sign in the door. It said "Please come back" - but no hours were posted. So I guess that means "come back and maybe we'll be here, or maybe not". Good luck with that program.

It looks so nice inside and the staff is great. The food is so yummy, deliciousness.

Reasonable price

Food was great little over Priced, some of menu items said made with chicharron but was actually carnitas was still good should update menu to what actually serving. example uploaded picture, menu said chicharron with Chile Verde they brought out carnitas with Chile verde. Chicharron- Pork Rind

Home cooking, very generous! I always leave grateful!! This family shares their traditional food with grace. Everything is made from scratch with quality ingredients; I would recommend this place to anyone!!!

Ordered over the phone a to go order. Was not what the menu online said. Got home, which is 15 miles one way. Went back and asked about my order. I saw the menu online and ordered from that. Was over $7.00 more than online menu. The owner said it's not his menu. If not then why are his reviews on the same page!

Awesome! Super friendly people with great food and great service! The pupusas were amazing; they seem expensive at first, but they are bigger in size and the taste alone is worth the cost. We will be coming back!

It's very friendly, I love being greeted as I arrive. It had been a while since I'd been there, it was even better than I remembered .had an amazing Chile relleno. Best I've had in the Valley.

Tacos tinga are wonderful! Some of the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. When your the only gringo in the place you know it has to be good.

Lago Azul was just what we needed after a week of vacationing in the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. The restaurant was clean and easy to find. Our waiter was kind, helpful, and quick. The food was incredible! I had the 1/2 Tinga Taco plate with rice and beans. I make Tinga tacos at home, but mine don't taste quite as good as Lago Azul's. Their chicken is magical. The rest of my party kept things pretty traditional with chimichangas and quesadillas, but it was all exceptionally tasty. Stop in and enjoy this local, palette pleasing joint!

Great food an good price friendly atmosphere.

If I could, I'd give a 0 star rating. Tacos are very small, high priced. Burritos are high priced as well, and small compare to other places. Overall, this restaurant has everything high priced, I dont recommend.

So glad that Lago Azul is open again - what a bummer that road construction made them shut down for so long. Excellent food and a great atmosphere!

The Bistek Rancherrito was phenomenal, particularly the sauce. A little pricey, but when you're craving authentic Mexican/Salvadorean food and you're in south-central Idaho the extra cash is worth it.

I come back for the pupusas, their traditional Salvadorian street food. Yummy!!! The horchata is perfect, too. Friendly and quick service, simple decor and easy parking.

Best restaurant ever, great customer service and food

I am so mad and disappointed every single thing I ordered was on their menu on google and it was literally twice as much when we picked it up. The food was thrown together in small portions a mess all over everything. Half of it tasted decent the other half was complete slop. Everyone told me how amazing this place is and it was a $100 mistake. NOT EVERYONE IN THIS TOWN IS A MILLIONAIRE STOP CHARGING US LIKE WE ARE.

Best place for Mexican food here locally. Their tacos are amazing and so are their tortas. Basically all I ever get when I stop here for my lunch break. I would have a picture to go with this review but I can never remember to get a picture of the food until I'm halfway through my meal

You just got done skiing a very long day in the sun. You are hungry. You love tacos. Then you go to Lago Azul. It’s that simple. Are they the best tacos in Hailey, ID? Maybe. Are the best tacos for the scenario I just described. Yes.Get the street tacos.

Food is good but place is not very clean

We came on a Friday night, so of course it was busy and service was slow but food was really good.

It was delicious, what else do you want? Small, family run, basic decor. Everything you need for a great meal, and nothing else.

The best anywhere

Literally the best Mexican food in the valley. Maybe the best anywhere. Get the tacos tingas or tacos Dorados or tacos Sandy or Carne asada or pupusas... Anything and everything is fantastic.

Good food, good service, welcoming little place

A great place and the typical hole in the wall location. Family owned and run. The carne asada with the chorizo was outstanding with great flavor. Pupusa's were amazing. Great food no atmosphere type of place

Drove to town specifically to come here, online it said they were open. Upon arrival we noticed the closed sign so we took our business elsewhere and had a nice dinner.
